OMG OMG OMG!!! I ::::LOVE:::: WKMS (FM). I worked there for three years as a student in the Promotion and Development office. I was “Ralph the Engineer” on the Ranger Bob Show. Think anyone remembers that from almost 25 years ago???????? Joe Jackson, Mark Reinhardt, Danny Spees, the late great Bobby Bryant, Mark Welch were all there then. 🙂
I remember, and someplace around here I have a Ranger Bob aircheck. I missed the poster. So who was Ranger Bob!
Maybe whoiever runs this blog could post a picture of the poster. Supposedly it’s hanging on the wall at WKMS.
REALLY late to this party…but I used to go to the radio station almost every weekend, and sit in the studio to watch Ranger Bob “live” and sometimes, I did on-air interviews in various characters on the show. I often think of Ranger Bob fondly, and wonder what Tim is up to these days.

I just recently relocated to Southern Illinois and live in the Shawnee National Forest. I was delighted to learn of WKNS and listen to it as I drive around the area every day. The last coupole of weeks I have not be able to get any reception on 91.3 and wonder if it is because of the tower on which you are working. I am sorry to miss the station and the great programming you offer.
We’re upgrading our tower to digital still (I’ll cc a post from our newsletter to here), so our extended area (including yours) is currently at 50%. It should be resolved in the next few days. Новый способ давления на кандидата на пост Главы г. Химки
Новый способ “наказать” тех, кто посмел участвовать в выборной кампании не на стороне действующей власти изобрели правоохранительные органы г.о. Химки.
Руководствуясь не нормой закона, а чьей-то “волей” сотрудники милиции решили “проверить” все фирмы, внесшие денежные средства в избирательный фонд неудобных кандидатов.
Начались “проверки” с телефонных звонков – где директор, сколько человек работает на фирме. После чего последовали “письма счастья” с просьбой предоставить всю бухгалтерскую документацию, учредительные документы фирмы, и даже, план экспликации БТИ.
Такие запросы химкинским фирмам рассылает 1 отдел Оперативно-розыскной части № 9 Управления по налоговым преступлениям ГУВД Московской области за подписью начальника подполковника милиции Д.В. Языкова.
И всё это в то время, когда Президент дал прямое указание правоохранительным органам о прекращении всех незаконных проверок малого и среднего бизнеса. С это целью внесены изменения в Федеральный закон “О милиции” – из статьи 11 этого закона исключены пункты 25 и 35, на основании которых ранее правоохранительные органы имели право проверять финансово-хозяйственную деятельность предприятий.
Видно, об изменениях действующего законодательства местные правоохранительные органы не уведомлены. И не смотрят телепередачи с выступлениями Президента.
Может быть, эта публикация подвигнет их к исполнению указаний Президента, а также к изучению и соблюдению действующего законодательства
