The Sacred and the Secular along the Ganges River

All this week Morning Edition airs a five part series on the collision of modern and ancient cultures on India’s holy Ganges River. Philip Reeves hosts this 1550 mile journey, which begins with today’s story.  Companion coverage can be read on the Telegraph.co.uk site “Holy River.”  Holy River includes a travel blog and amazing photos, but may be a little rough on the dial-up users out there. Reeve’s has posted a few of the pictures on his NPR page, and will hopefully continue to provide more of O’malley’s great images.

The journey continues tomorrow on Morning Edition.
